Congratulations to "Plan Bee" on winning the Healthy Learners Adult Spelling Bee. (Team members Maria Tyre, Paula Taylor, Arlene Burton, and Fay Sprouse are pictured.) Their winning word was "suffrutescent" which means "of a plant or stem - having a base that is somewhat woody and does not die down each year." The team won in 2016 as well.
Healthy Learners is a faith-based non-profit that connects children to care so that poor health is not an obstacle to doing well in school. We are so fortunate to have Healthy Learners providing support for our students. The spelling bee brought in over $40,000 for the Greenwood County site.
