A free COVID-19 vaccine clinic is today from 2-5PM in the WS Community Library. Self Regional Healthcare will provide the FDA approved Pfizer vaccine for ages 12 and up. No pre-registration is required. Ages 12-15 require parent/guardian consent. Information and consent forms may be found at the following site. WSSD51 is offering drive-through COVID testing today until 2PM in front of Ware Shoals High School. Carolina Health Centers is administering a PCR test, which is not a rapid test. Results will be returned in 2-3 days.

District COVID-19 update as of Wednesday, August 25th: WSP: 9 students positive, 1 staff positive, 136 close contacts quarantined. WSM: 2 students positive, 1 staff positive, 18 close contacts quarantined. WSH: 1 student positive, 10 close contacts quarantined. TOTALS: 14 COVID positive and 164 quarantined. Please do not send sick children to school. If one child has COVID symptoms, please do not send brother(s) or sister(s) to school until getting the sick child tested. If the child tests positive, the siblings are close contacts if they live together or ride to school together. We urge all to voluntarily wear masks while inside, on school buses, or outside when social distancing is not possible.

Our second COVID-19 vaccine clinic will be held Friday, August 27th, from 2-5PM in the WS Community Library. Park in front of the library, beside the high school driveway. Signs will be posted to show where to enter. A consent form must be completed by a parent or legal guardian before children aged 12-15 may receive their vaccine. District COVID-19 update... As of Friday, August 20th, we had 7 positive student cases and 50 quarantined students. More and more staff and students are choosing to wear face masks as the number of cases in our community and schools rise. Our nurses continue to offer testing and contact tracing for students and staff. We appreciate their hard work in helping to keep us safe!

Job duties include food prep and service, maintaining cleanliness of kitchen and cafeteria, and other related duties. COVID-19 update for WSSD51: Since last Thursday, August 5th, we have had 4 COVID-positive students, resulting in 62 students and 1 staff member being quarantined as close contacts. Masks are available at school and on school buses if you wish for your child to wear one.

The COVID-19 vaccine clinic was a great success! Thanks to all 58 people who came and rolled up their sleeve. The next clinic will be August 27 from 2-5PM at the WS Community Library to administer second doses as well as first doses to those who were unable to come to the first clinic.
